'Patsy in Hollywood' (2 September 1950)
Bill Dyer was the cartoonist for the Knoxville (Tennessee) News-Sentinel and was locally famous for his Sunday morning 'Dyergrams' of University of Tennessee football games. As a comic artist, he helped launch Ralph Fuller's 'Oaky Doaks' Sunday page. He took over the 'Adventures of Patsy' comic in 1946, which has been previously drawn by Mel Graff, Charles Raab and George Storm. Dyer drew the strip, which was also briefly titled 'Patsy in Hollywood', for a period of ten years.
During World War II, Dyer drew propaganda posters.
Bill Dyer should not be confused with Hollywood actor Bill Dyer (1923-2006).
