Edmond Fernández Ripoll (or simply Edmond) was born in Barcelona in 1938 and began his career in 1960, working for Bruguera Publishers. His work was published in girls' magazines like Celia, As de Corazones, and Sissi, and he also made comics of TV series, like 'Rin-tin-tin', 'Bonanza' and 'Bronco'. After that, he did fantasy stories like 'Supernova', 'Fantasia S.A.' and 'Brigade Temporelle'.

The first story he both wrote and drew was 'Jan Europe', followed by 'Dr. Impossible', 'Eva Star', 'Fede and their colleagues', 'Cinemateca', 'Sindy', 'The life critics', 'The tribe' and 'Telavision'. Throughout the years, he worked for numerous magazines, such as Mortadelo, Chicas, El Periódico, Tiempo and TBO (for which he did movies parodies).

The War of the Wasps (The Hornet #423, 1971)

He worked for several foreign publications, such as Dutch girl's magazine Tina. For over 30 years, Edmond has done art on series as 'Mimi', 'Sas en Lies', 'Astrid' and 'Barracuda', and succeeded Purita Campos as the artist of the title comic 'Tina en Debbie' from 2007 to 2010. In the 1970s he was also present on the British market with stories like 'The War of the Wasps' for The Hornet. Besides drawing comics, he has also worked as a book illustrator and painter of movie posters.
