Özcan Eralp

Özcan Eralp is a Turkish comic artist and writer, born in Izmir and best known for his work on 'The Phantom'. He began his career as an illustrator in the 1960s. He lived in Sweden from 1967 to 1971, where he was a studio artist with Semic Press. He started out doing additional art for the Italian 'Phantom' stories that were published in Fantomen.

Between 1970 and 1991 he also drew stories on his own. Eralp has done remakes of the original newspaper stories by Lee Falk, but he has also scripted some stories himself. He also made several stories in cooperation with Bertil Wilhelmsson. In Turkey, he has additionally made cartoons for magazines like Girgir and Virt.
