Born in Gênes, Luca Erbetta studied at the Ego Bianchi art school in Cuneo and at the School of Plastic Arts in Nice. After a collaboration with the Italian motor magazine Tuttomoto, he created his first comic album for the French market. '1881' was created in cooperation with scenarist Luca Blengino for Semic in 2004. Between 2005 and 2008 he drew six books in the series 'Watch' for Delcourt (scripts by Michaël Le Galli, inks by Fabio Bono). With Luca Blengino, he is co-scriptwriter of the Delcourt series 'Flamingo' and 'Gaijin'. He is furthermore the artist of the Blengino scripted series 'Sam and Twitch - The Writer' for Image Comics in the USA.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop.
However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
