M by Mads Eriksen
M (M magazine #6, 2012)

Mads Eriksen was born in Malvik and lives and works in Trondheim. He is best known as the creator of the comic strip 'M', but he began his career with the comic 'Gnom' in Smult magazine in 2000. When this magazine folded, he got the opportunity to introduce his semi-autobiographical 'M' comic as a guest strip in Pondus magazine.

It got a spot in Dagbladet in 2002, replacing the 'Hagar the Horrible' strip. Eriksen's 'M' quickly established a large fanbase for its humour and pop-cultural references and got its own monthly comic book published by Schibstedforlagene in late 2006, while it is also still running in Dagbladet and Adresseavisen.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
