Angelitos by Jose Luis Escalante
'Angelitos', Zona 84 #75 (August, 1990)

José Luis Escalante contributed a number of short stories to various magazines published by Toutain. The first ones appeared in 1980 and 1984, when he was among the finalists in two contests for amateur artists hosted by this publisher in SF magazine 1984. He published other five stories in Zona 84 from 1989 to 1992, the year when the magazine folded. Meanwhile a few more stories were featured in Tótem el Comix and in Creepy (second run). Apart from Toutain's publications, Escalante's works occasionally appeared in other ones like Círculo Andaluz de Tebeos, Camaleón Comics and BarZelona Comic.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
