Gene Fama

Gene Fama was born the USA, but spent several years in Belgium as a teenager. There he discovered the work of European artists like Moebius and Hergé, who have been on great influence on his work. Upon his return to the USA, he attended the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools together with Daniel Clowes. Together with Clowes, Mort Todd and Pete Friedrich, he published his work in the early 1980s in alternative comic books like The Previous Future.

Since then, he has published his comic stories in comix like Real Stuff, Grit Bath (Fantagraphics), The New Spirit Adventures (Kitchen Sink), Real Schmuck (Starhead Comics) and in the Marvel Music line. He also inked 'Animal Man' and 'Doom Patrol' for DC Vertigo.
