Historical story for Tintin, by J.L. Fernan
José Lopez Fernandez (Fernan) drew numerous historical comics for Tintin magazine in the late 1950s, most of them written by the scenarists Duval or Duchâteau. In the mid-1960s, Fernan turned to Spirou, where he continued doing historical stories in the 'Belles Histoires de l'Oncle Paul' series, either signing with Fernan or with Psepol.

Together with Juan-Manuel Cicuendez, he produced two continuing stories for the magazine: 'Les Trafiquants d'Ébène' and 'Les Mayas'. In the 1970s, he drew the final episodes of 'Dragut' in Nevada with scripts by Claude Legrand.
