Roger Fletcher was born in Muruwillumbah, New South Wales. While working in the shipping industry, he studied part-time at Julian Ahton's art school. Fletcher started out working on the sword & sorcery strip 'Orn the Eagle Warrior' in 1974. The strip wasn't a big success, but it's follow-up, 'Torkan', is. |

Fletcher's 'Torkan' debuted in Sydney's Sunday Telegraph in 1976, and is still published today (2009). Four years later, Fletcher started another strip, called 'Staria', in the Daily Telegraph. |
