Geoffrey Foladori, who used the pseudonym Fola, was one of the early and pioneering Uruguayan comics artists. He was born in England as the son of an Uruguayan father and moved to Uruguay at age eleven. Starting in 1931, he worked for Mundo Uruguaho during 32 years with series like 'Don Tranquilo y Flia' and 'Ciengramos y Viola'. He also contributed to El Diario and BP Color, creating stories like 'El Profesor Pistacho' and 'Don Gumeersindo'. In Billiken, he continued 'Ciengramos y Viola' under the name 'Pelopincho y Cachirula' for eighteen years. His cartoons were published in several dailies and syndicated by United Press ('Casos y Cosas', 'Divúlguelo' and 'Las Siete Diferencias').
