Born in Palma de Ebro, Tarragona, Rossend Franch has lived and worked in San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante, since 1951. He is a self-taught artist and a member of the Association of Artists from Alicante. He started working as a comic book artist in 1962, drawing for Spanish publishers like Toray and Manhattan on war stories for titles like 'Hazañas Bélicas' and 'Relatos de Guerra'. Being associated with agencies like Selecciones Ilustradas and Bardon Art, he was however mainly active for publishers abroad, like England, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and the USA.
In the second half of the 1970s he followed his brother Jordi Franch into other artistic circles, and also took on painting. He has devoted his time exclusively to watercolor and oil painting since 1986. His work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions and more than twenty solo exhibitions in the cities of Alicante, Albacete, Murcia, Barcelona, Reus, Tortosa, Elche and in many towns in the province of Alicante.
