
Jacek Fras attended the Painting and Graphics Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, where he graduated in 2002. He also studied at the Art Academy in Cracow. After his studies, he practised in Tokyo and New York. He works as a painter, illustrator and comics artist. In 2001, as a comics author, Fras won the prestegious Prix Alph-Art award in the Young Talents category of the comics festival in Angoulême, France. The awarded comic, 'The Duck', tells the story of Warsaw during World War II, where some rebels meet a mythic Duck in Warsaw's ruined basements. Later on, he produced the graphic novel 'Glinno'.
