Charles ("George") Frink was the creator of 'Slim Jim', one of the most popular American newspaper comics of all time. Originally, it was a daily strip called 'Circus Solly', featured in the Chicago Daily News starting in 1903. In 1910, it was distributed as a Sunday page under the name 'Slim Jim and the Force'. The strip dealt with extremely tall and thin Jim, who continued to outwit the three constables known as The Force. Frink also illustrated two of Peck's 'Bad Boy' children's books. 'Slim Jim' was continued by Raymond Ewer in 1911.
