Billy Fugate was an American comic book artist, who was active from the 1980s into the 2000s. He completed the Famous Artists' School correspondence course during high school and went on to become a freelance cartoonist and illustrator for various newspapers and magazines. In the early 1980s, he was present in publications by Kitchen Sink Press, including the music comix magazine BOP, the underground magazine Gay Comics and Reed Waller's 'Omaha the Cat Dancer' series, in which he had a back-up feature. He then did comic books like 'Star Fems' for Paragon Publications, as well as 'Noise Candy' for Comic City and script and artwork for Steeldragon's 'Hercules Jr.' and 'Cap'n Phil & His Intergalactic Space Pals'.
By the early 1990s, he was drawing for Disney comic book titles like 'Roger Rabbit's Toontown', 'Goofy Adventures' and 'The Little Mermaid'. Later in that decade Fugate drew 'Thunder Girl' and 'Mighty Man' for Caliber's 'Big Bang Comics'. By 2006 he had his own 'Super Frankenstein' one-shot published in the series 'Big Bang Presents'.
