Gfrenzy spent much of his youth reading 'Commando' war comics in the outhouse, later graduating onto '2000 AD' as a teenager. His first attempts at comic drawing were therefore in the war, sci-fi or best of all, sci-fi war genres. Gfrenzy helped form Oatz Comics in 1991, alongside Stefan Neville, Sugar Jon and Biff Bangle (a comic collective still producing work). Careful penmanship and pencil drafts were pushed aside as adolescent drinking binges increased, and his comics took on a more autobiographical tone. His work includes 'Choice Guy', 'The New Year' and 'My 2 Dad'. He also contributes to 'Dad + Tracy'. Gfrenzy currently keeps himself busy with 'Longdivision' - a small CDR label that often includes comics with CD releases.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
