Tamtam om Chrissie (Tina 12, 1983). Originally British (Maisie of Mo Town).

Giorgio Giorgetti was born in Recoaro Terme, in the area of Verona, and raised in Genoa. He settled in London, UK, in 1951 where he began a collaboration with IPC Comics in the following year. He contributed to many of the publisher's comic books, including Tammy, Sally, Cor, Valiant, Eagle, Look and Learn, Mirabel, June and School Friend.

He drew 'King Rat' for Valiant and Eagle in the 1960's and 1970's, and he made 'Doleman' during the same period. He was a regular in the girls' titles like Tammy with 'The Cat Girl', 'Julia' and 'Witch Hazel'. These serials were also published in girls' magazines in other countries, such as Lily, Esther and Gina in Spain, and Tina in The Netherlands.

Among his other creations were 'Mam'selle X' and 'Jacey' for June and School Friend, and 'Star Struck Sisters'. Giorgetti also illustrated books for Collins' Books. He had his own studio in Margate, Kent, where he continued to work until his early death in February 1982.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
