Crudo Filete, by Philippe Girard
Crudo Filete (Zine Zag #9)

Philippe Girard drew his first comic at age 8. This page was in fact published in the juvenile magazine Je Me Petit Debrouille. He drew for several school papers and won a caricature contest in 1986. Afterwards, he began drawing for the magazine Bambou. He created the children's comic 'Le Secret des Nuages' and cooperated on L'Éclosion. He graduated from the University of Laval in communication graphics in 1993 and went to work in infographics. In 1997, he founded the monthly fanzine Tabasko! with Jean-François Bergeron (Djief) and Éric Asselin. His comics also appeared in Le Prisme, La Graphe, Zine Zag, Doigt dans l'Oeil and Avons-nous les Bons Pneus?. His main character is 'Jim le Malingre', of which several album collections have appeared; at first self-published, then by Zone Convective.

Series and books by Philippe Girard in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
