Henk Groeneveld was born in Vlaardingen. He was a longtime collaborator with the farmer's magazine Boerderij, for which he created the comic character 'Opa' in 1971. He drew the strip for more than 30 years and was succeeded by Herman Roozen in 2004.
He additionally made several comics for Stripje, including 'Ina' with scriptwriters like Anton Ferdi and Sonja van der Gaast. In 1974, he made the comic book 'Kop Op', dealing with the 1974 Episcopal Letter. In 2007, Groeneveld won the Bulletje & Boonestaakschaal during the Dutch Stripdagen for his work for Boerderij.
