Le Petit Bûcheron, by Boris Guilloteau
Le Petit Bucheron

Boris Guilloteau was born in Tours and developed an early interest in comic art through Marvel comics and European series like 'Astérix' and 'Tintin'. At age 18, he won a contest during the Poitiers Comics Festival and later studied Fine Arts in Cherbourg and Angoulême. He had an apprenticeship in animation with the CNBDI before returning to Tours where he spent a year participating in several theater stage shows. He fulfilled his military service and then spent two more years studying animation with the Gobelins school. He left the school in 2002 and has since worked with animation studios like Je Suis Bien Content, Les Cartooners Associés and Mille iMages on projects like 'Fille perdue, cheveux gras' and 'Les Enfants du feu'.

He made his debut in comics in 2003 with the publication of 'Le Petit Bûcheron', a book in cooperation with Tarek for Soleil Productions. In Saint-Malo, he met scriptwriter Dieter, with whom he created the children's series 'Jane des Dragons' for Delcourt between 2005 and 2007.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
