Cathy Guisewhite is the author of the daily 'Cathy' strip, which started in 1976. With her simple, almost caricature style, Guisewhite has created a popular comic strip about the prototypical busy modern woman. She has won several awards with her comic, such as the prestigious Rueben Award for "Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year". Born in Dayton, Ohio, Guisewhite studied at the University of Michigan and got her degree in English in 1972. Afterwards, she went into advertising as a writer for several agencies. The 'Cathy' strip is distributed to 1200 newspapers worldwide.
