Born in Quebec, Jean-Philippe Morin (better known as Gyzmo) began his career in several Canadian magazines. He drew series like 'Archibald le Cannibale' and 'L'Astronaute' with text by Mario Malouin in the magazine Safarir. In 1993, he published the black and white album 'Barnabé et Compagnie' at Studio Montag Editor. He also did some gags for the short-lived magazine Pignouf in 1996. From 2003, he is the artist of the series 'Docteur Big Love', that appears at the French publisher Vents d'Ouest with text by Jacky Goupil and Sylvia Douyé. In addition, Gyzmo worked in the animation field as a storyboard artist on several series, such as 'Kids from Room 402', 'Turtle Island', 'Kapüt & Zösky', 'Pig City', 'What's With Andy' and the motion picture 'Pinocchio 3000'.
