Kathy, by Clark Haas

Clark S. Haas Jr. was an American cartoonist and animator. Prior to his artistic career, he was a jet pilot. He got into cartooning by assisting Roy Crane on 'Buz Sawyer' and Lyman Young on 'Tim Tyler's Luck', ghosting on both the Sunday pages. Between 1949 and 1951 he made his own comic strip for Wheeler-Nicolson, called 'Sunnyside'. He has done comic book art through studios like Sangor. For Better Publications, he did the 'Brick Bradford' splash pages as well as the 'Kathy' feature.

Between 1957 and 1965 he was head of his own animation studio, Cambria Studios, which produced the animation series 'Clutch Cargo', 'Space Angel', 'Captain Fathom' and 'The New Three Stooges'. In later years, he worked for Hanna-Barbera.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
