Günter Hain spent most of his life in the DDR (German Democratic Republic), the communist part of Germany. He was a comic artist for magazines such as Atze, Der Schulpost and Frösi. His comics were done in a realistic style, and often depicted historical events, from a pro-communist viewpoint.
