The Adoption (Women in Fur #2, 1998)

Mary Hanson-Roberts is a comic book artist from Florida. She is part of the so-called "furry art" scene, a group of artists that specializes in antropomorphic animals that originated in the indie SF/fantasy scene. Her long-running serial 'Here Comes a Candle' appeared in the furry art anthology 'Furrlough'. Hanson furthermore contributed to fanzines and comic books like Centaurs, Gatherum, Huzzah and Women in Fur. She displays her drawings of cats and dragons in convention art shows, and has additionally illustrated sets of tarrot cards.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
