After an artistic education at the Institut Saint-Luc in Liège, Marc Hardy learned the finer points of the comics profession from Mittéï and Pierre Seron. In 1972, he worked with Édouard Aidans and Yves Duval on 'La Prodigieuse Épopée du Tour de France' and the series 'Franval', published in Tintin and Tintin Sélection. Hardy made his actual professional debut in Spirou in the 1970s with series like 'Badminton' (scripts by Mittéï) and 'Garonne et Guitare' (scripts by Mythic). With Stephen Desberg, Hardy then created the series about archangel 'Arkel' in 1981.
Hardy's most famous comics series is 'Pierre Tombal', which he started with Raoul Cauvin in 1983. This series, about a gravedigger and his dead "customers," became one of the most popular humorous series in Spirou. In addition to 'Pierre Tombal', Hardy teamed up with Yann to create 'La Patrouille des Libellules' in 1985 and the gag series about the hookers 'Lolo et Sucette' in 1988, both published in Circus by Glénat. Also with Yann, he made two albums of 'Croqu'la Vie' at Marsu-Productions. In 1997, he continued 'Lolo et Sucette' in the Humour Libre collection of Dupuis. In 2005, Hardy teamed up with Tome to create 'Feux' at Dargaud.
