Harry Harrison is a science-fiction writer and editor, who began his career as an illustrator in the same genre. He illustrated several stories for the EC Comics books Weird Fantasy and Weird Science, most of the time in cooperation with Wallace Wood. He eventually turned to writing, his most notable creations are the 'Stainless Steel Rat' series and the 1966 novel 'Make Room! Make Room!'. He also wrote for syndicated comic strips, creating 'Rick Random' with Ron Turner in 1954 and writing most of the 'Flash Gordon' newspaper strip in the 1950s and 1960s.
