Judge Parker, by Dan Heilman

Dan Heilman started his career as an assistant to Roy Crane on 'Buz Sawyer' and Ken Ernst on 'Mary Worth'. In 1952 Heilman started a series on his own. The 'Judge Parker' series was written by the psychiatrist Nicholas P. Dallis, who wrote his comics under the name Paul Nichols, who brought social themes into the comic. Heilman mostly drew 'Judge Parker' in a photo-realistic style, but sometimes lapsed into a somewhat more cartoon-like rendition. He drew the comic until 1965, when he died at the age of 41. 'Judge Parker' was continued by Harold LeDoux.
