William Henne was born in Brussels. He is one of the driving forces behind the publishing house La Cinquième Couche since 1998. He is also active as a film maker and co-founder of the animation studios Zorobabel. As a comics artist, he has published in Comix 2000, Frigobox 10, Le Matin and Quardrado. In 1994, he self-published 'L'Épuisement', and from 2001 he was present in the collection Extracteur of La 5e Couche with 'La Poursuite'. In 2001, he also illustrated 'La Dispirarition de Perek', the 8th album in the series 'La Poulpe'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
