Mendelssohn, by Line Hoven (2004)

Line Hoven was born in Bonn, Germany. After working as a assistant costume and set designer at the Kassel State Theatre, she ended up studying visual communication at the Art School in Kassel. Two years later she switched to the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg to study illustration under Anke Feuchtenberger and Atak. She graduated and is now working as a freelance illustrator and comic artist. Her comics have been published in several magazines like Orang and Strapazin. Her book 'Liebe schaut weg' was publihsed by the Berlin publisher Reprodukt and it won the ICOM prize for Best Independent Comic at the 2008 Comic Salon in Erlangen.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
