Agence Eureka, by José de Huescar

José de Huescar is a Spanish author who works mainly in the illustration field, most notably for the collection 'Pirates' of Mon Journal. However, for Pif Gadget he illustrated the series 'Agence Eureka' and the comics adaptations of the TV series 'Mannix'. He has also worked for the publishing houses Arédit and Larousse, where he cooperated on the series 'La Découverte du Monde en BD' and 'L'Histoire du Far West'.

Hombres de Accion, by Huescar

With scripts by Jean Ollivier, Huescar illustrated two comic adaptations of Kipling's 'Mowgli' in 1982 at the publishing house Vaillant. He has drawn short stories for Le Journal de Ludo at Éditions Vaillant in 1979. He was present in Circus under the pseudonym Garvi in 1987. In Spain, he has contributed to Hombres de Accion, a publication by Toray.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
