Fingerpori by Pertti Jarla

Pertti Jarla is a self-taught cartoonist from Nastola, Finland. He published his frist comics in the humorous Pahkasiassa magazine during the 1990s. Between 1996 and 2007 he was associated with Jari Sarasvuon's information technology and business coaching company Trainers' Housessa, where he drew comics during the training sessions about the sujects discussed. He became known through his 'Fingerpori' comic series, that is published in the Helsingin Sanomat, newspaper from February 2007.

'Fingerpori' is a hugely politically incorrect comic strip set in the fictional small town of Fingerpori on the Finnish coast. Now it appears in some 40 newspapers, and collections of the strip have sold over 300,000 copies.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
