contribution to Meathaus by James Jean

James Jean was born in Taiwan but was raised in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey. James was educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Upon graduating in 2001, he quickly became an acclaimed and prize-winning cover artist for DC Comics. He has also illustrated covers for the comic book series 'Fables and The Umbrella Academy'.

He has contributed to many national and international publications. Although a full time illustrator and painter, he did participate in 'Meathaus' (Squidpress 2000), an independent anthology, for wich he drew a short comic story. James Jean currently has several published works, all of which collect his illustrations and art.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
