John was the signature of an artist who published his work in the French farmer's magazine Rustica in the 1930s. Other contributors to this magazine were Phili, Jean-Jacques Roussau, Etienne Le Rallic and Arsène Brivot. Since the name John was not very common in France around that time, it is possible that it is the same artist who drew under the signature John Drawer in Le Jeudi de la Jeunesse.
