For Better or for Worse, by Lynn Johnston (1991)

As a student at the Vancouver School of Art, Lynn Johnston leaned towards commercial illustration. During her first pregnancy however, she created numerous panel cartoons which led to three books: 'David, We're Pregnant!', 'Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad!' and 'Do They Ever Grow Up?'. In 1978, Johnston signed a contract with Universal Press Syndicate and her masterwork 'For Better or For Worse' debuted on September 9, 1979. Lynn Johnston was given the society's coveted Reuben for 1986 and its Best Newspaper Comic Strip in 1991. The International Museum of Cartoon Art inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 1997, making Johnston the first woman to be so honored.

Series and books by Lynn Johnston in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
