Contribution to Amsterdam comics paper Wat Wil West (2014)

Rudi Jonker works as an illustrator, comic artist and comics letterer through his studio Red Cat Art Productions since the 1980s. Jonker makes illustrations, character designs, logo designs, storyboards, portraits and caricatures for a variety of clients. He regularly works together with his brother, scriptwriter Frits Jonker.

Johan Cruijff: van straatschoffie tot voetballegende

He participated in the collective comics project 'Tussen de rails' (1989), and was the author of 'De Wonderlijke Wereld van Bart', a weekly comic based on Dutch TV personality Bart de Graaf, that he produced for Veronica Gids through Jorg Bolle Producties in 1997. Jonker is the author of 'Johan Cruijff: van straatschoffie tot voetballegende', a book about the childhood of the Dutch soccer legend, that was published in commission of the Johan Cruijff Foundation by Wind Publishing in February 2014.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
