Normal City, by Kang Kyung-ok

Kang Kyung-ok is a female Korean comic artist. She made her debut in 1985 (with 'Hyeonjae Jinhaenghyeong'), and has created titles such as 'The Light of the Stars', 'The Present Progressive', 'Raviham Police', 'Purple Heart' and 'Normal City'. She stands out in her capability of expressing human sentiments in her work. The themes of her work vary from ordinary life, to God or the universe. 'Byeolbit Soge' ('The Light of the Stars'), about a girl student who discovers that she is a princess on another planet, stands as one of the highlights in her work.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
