Born in Zagreb, Branco Karabajic was about to pursue a career in banking, when he got the opportunity to work on the Yugoslavian animation film 'Veliki Mitting'. Together with Neugebauer, he joined the German comics production of Rolf Kauka in the late 1950s. He settled in München, and cooperated on the series 'Münchhausen'. He eventually got creative control over the series 'Pauli', for which he created several side-characters, such as Pauli's friend 'Mausi' and his girlfriend 'Mimi'. Karabajic has also drawn for other Kauka series, such as 'Bussi Bär' and 'TipTop'. In addition, he drew the comic 'Familie Mausebein' for the chemist's magazine Medi & Zini. He retired in 1993, and returned to Zagreb.
