Tabou sur table, by Tembo Kash

Tembo Muhindo Kashauri, who uses the artist name Tembo Kash, was born in Butembu, Comngo in 1965. He studied Plastic Arts and graduated in 1993. He started his career as a comic artisy in 1989, when he won a prize in a comic contest. Sine 1990, he works as an illustrator, graphic designer and comic artist for several organisations and publications, such as Afro BD, Le Phare and Africanissimo. Between 1993 and 1996 he was the artistic director of advertising agency R.G. Creatifs AssociƩs. He has also contributed to 'A L'Ombre du Baobab', a collection of comics by African artists about education and health in Africa, for which he created the story 'Tabou sur table'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
