Thorios, by Charlie Kiefer

Born in Ermont, Charlie Kiéfer attended the School of Applied Arts from 1953 to 1955. At the same time, he worked at the atelier of Lucien Nortier, whom he assisted on series like 'Bison Noir', 'La Fleche Brisee', 'Sam Billie Bill' and 'Robin Des Bois' until 1968. From 1970, he focused on advertising work and in 1994, he began his own studio with his wife. He returned to comics with the historical comic 'Thorios - le Sage de l'Oronte' at Éditions du Triomphe in 1998 (script by Christian Deschamps). This was followed by 'Lille, Cité de la Vierge' (Faver, 1998), 'Avec Guy de Larigaudie' (Du Triomphe, 1999), 'Sainte Thérèse de Lisieux' (Clovis, 2000) and 'Saint Padre Pio' (Clovis, 2003).

Series and books by Charlie Kiéfer in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
