Sandra Kleine Staarman was born in Geldrop. She studied Economical and Social History at the University of Amsterdam. She first came to attention with her webcomic 'Littlestarman', which won the 2008 Clickies award from the Clickburg foundation. She forms the Amsterdam Comic Guerilla collective together with Pepijn Schermer. She published her story 'Il est 5 heure 35 à Bagdad' in the pilot issue of ACG and her comic 'Schiappo' was drawn in Italy and printed in Berlin. The ACG also produced the comic 'Camhead' with Stephan Brusche, based on the film by Daniel van den Broek. Sandra furthermore contributed stories to magazines like De Lijn and Inkt, and she has participated in several of the annual 24 Hour Comics events. She is also a carpenter and traveler.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop.
However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
