Donald Duck (14-9-1986)

Jørgen Klubien drew the daily 'Donald Duck' for a couple of months in 1986. He studied at the California Art Institute in Los Angeles from 1976 to 1979. Mainly an animator, he was an inbetweener on Disney's 'The Fox and the Hound' and an animator on such films as 'Oliver & Company', 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Rescuers Down Under'. He was a storyboard artist on 'The Lion King', 'Pocahontas', 'Mulan', 'A Bug's Life' and 'Toy Story II'. He has also done animation for Danish children's TV programs and animated sequences for Danish live-action films. Klubien has also pursued a musical career as lead vocalist in the Danish pop band Danseorkesteret since the 1980s.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
