Tarmo Koivisto

Tarmo Koivisto was born in Orivesi, Finland in 1948. He studied at the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki. His comics work includes titles such as 'Mämmilä' (a series of ten graphic novels that ran from 1975 until 1996), 'Apina Kapina' and 'Kustannus Oy Jalava' (1994). He also created children's books. He received the Finnish Comic Society Puupäähattu Award in 1978, the state Arts and Design Prize in 1992 and a national 5-year artist grant in 1997.
