Richard Kolkman is an Indiana comic artist and the creator of self-syndicated comic strips 'One Girl' and 'Things from Nowhere'. He graduated from The Herron School of Art in 1988. He self-syndicated 'The Occupants' (1987) and 'Big Flat City' (1988-1996) comic strips to weekly alternative and college newspapers.

He has worked as a graphic designer for Indianapolis advertising agencies and other clients including: GBI Design, SFX Entertainment, Clear Channel, and The American Legion. He is co-founder of the Seriocomics and Xulu Brand comic book imprints.
