Bobette Hansen, by Paul Arne Kring

Paul Arne Kring finished his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1975. He worked in the theater, and at the same time, he occasionally published his comics, such as 'Weneetryhl Axtryhl' (a pastiche of 'Barbarella' by Forest) in 1974 and 'Kit MacCoy' in 1977 in fanzine Sejd. In 1982, his eight-page thriller 'Ushebti' was published in Danske Tegneserier. In 1988, Kring made his breakthrough in comics with his detective series 'The Man on the Beach' ('Manden på Stranden'), featuring detective writer Bobette Hansen.

Paul Arne Kring's style is characterized by a sure and consistent artwork, and a preference for the atmosphere from the 1920s.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
