Comic art by Joe Lambert

Joseph Lambert is a cartoonist, illustrator and co-editor of the Sundays anthology. He was born in Kansas in 1984 and now lives and works in White River Junction, Vermont. A graduate from the Center for Cartoon Studies, he published his debut graphic novel 'I Will Bite You! and Other Stories' through Secret Acres in 2011. He also produced a dual biography of deaf-blind Helen Keller and her mentor Annie Sullivan called 'Annie Sullivan and the Trials of Helen Keller' for The Center for Cartoon Studies (Disney/Hyperion, 2012).

Joe Lambert's work is also included in Chris Duffy's 'Fairy Tale Comics' (First Second), 'Mome' volume 22 (Fantagraphics) and the 2008 and 2013 editions of Houghton Mifflin's 'The Best American Comics'. His illustrations have appeared in Business Week, Popular Mechanics, 7Days, The Comics Journal and many other publications.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
