(Nieuwsblad van het Noorden, 1990)

Jaap Lamberton was a Dutch illustrator and one of the last artists working at the comics department of the Toonder Studio's in the 1980s. He was production coordinator for the 1983 Bommel movie 'Als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel' and worked with Richard Klokkers on backgrounds for 'Arman en Ilva'. He took over the 'Panda' strip from Piet Wijn together with Frits Godhelp and continued it, from scripts by Ruud Straatman and Harrie Geelen, until his death in 1991.

Lamberton has also worked extensively as an illustrator. He posthumously won the Woutertje Pieterse Award for his illustrations for the Imme Dros book 'Een heel lief konijn' in 1993.

Series and books by Jaap Lamberton in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
