T. Lewis was born in Texas and has lived in such exotic places as Africa, Switzerland and Alaska. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from North Texas State University, where he had his first comics published. Lewis has illustrated fourteen children's books so far, including 'Peter Pan' (Troll Associates, 1988), 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' (Calico Books, 1988) and 'Cinderella, the Untold Story' (Birch Lane Press, 1990). Lewis was also the artist for the 'Mickey Mouse' comic strip for King Features Syndicate and Walt Disney Productions. Together with Michael Fry, he created 'Over the Hedge' in 1995. 'Over the Hedge' successfully filled the spot left vacant when 'Calvin and Hobbes' ended its syndication.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
