He then became a regular with DC Comics, starting with some contributions to the New Talent Showcase. He continued to draw the title's covers until 1988, and did fill-ins on other DC titles on several occassions in the years that followed. He also drew the first five issues in the new 'Doom Patrol' series in 1987. By the 1990s he was mainly working for Marvel Comics, with several stories published in 'Marvel Comics Presents', as well as issues of 'Quasar' and 'Excalibur: X Crossing'. Lightle is mainly known for his cover art, however, like for Marvel's 'Classic X-Men' in 1989 and 1990. He has been selling self-published comic books and original artwork through his company Lunatick Press since 2001.
