After completing his technical studies, Pietro Lusso specialized in art and painting at Menini-Bisi studios. Later he devoted himself to graphics, illustration and satirical texts. His first works in comics appeared in Il Male and Totem magazines in the early 1980s. In 1993, he joined Silver's staff as a writer and editor. He writes the stories of 'Lupo Alberto' and 'Cattivik' comics series, drawn by Bruno Cannucciari, Giacomo Michelon, Giorgio Sommacal, Massimo Bonfatti and others. In 1996 he created the sci-fi series 'Contatti' for Il Giornalino (Edizioni San Paolo) drawn by Giorgio Sommacal, with whom he also developed the character of 'Yellow Kill' (Edizioni L'isola che non c'รจ). He also writes the scripts for cartoons series produced by Rai and Mediaset. Parallelly, Lusso has been producing illustrations for publishers, companies and the web (Slow Food, scifi.com) and colouring for comics and merchandising. He also holds classes on writing both in private and in public schools.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
