comic art by Ulli Lust

Born in Vienna, Ulli Lust lives and works in Berlin since 1995. She is co-founder of the Berlin based comic group Monogatari. Studying Communication Design at the Fachhochschule Weißensee, she joined with fellow students Jens Harder, Tim Dinter, Kathi Kaeppel, Mawil and Kai Pfeiffer, to discover new narrative forms in words and pictures.

Alltagsspionage, by Ulli Lust

In 2001, the group published 'Alltagsspionage', their comic debut in which each artist designed a comic reportage from Berlin. Lust is mainly active with comic journalism as well as autobiographical and erotic stories. She started running the online-publishing company electrocomics.com in June 2005.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
